Your Imagination

Ohhh…this is what came to mind when I stumbled on this picture: Romance.  I mean, they are rose petals. Thousands of them.

But then I thought of ideas, strewn along life’s path, one by one by one. Kindnesses too, and how they soften our way through hard times.

What comes to your mind when you see this picture? I would love to know!

I thought of romance right off too Dorraine, but now that you’ve made us really Look at it, (you’d be such a great writing instructor), I think of dying, peacefully. It’s the way the petals lead up, and into an uneartly light that leads to that thought. In fact, at least one story idea comes to mind. :)

Thanks for sharing this lovely photo.

    Is this the dividing line?

it almost feels sad to me…scattered petals ya know?

  3. Dorraine Says:

    Deanna,

Thank you for saying that. And I knew this picture would dig up some kind of responses. So, I’m thinking about what you said, the dying peacefully, and the petals leading down the long road of life. It’s really quite beautiful in correlation to the picture.

An idea for story; very nice. Amazing how visuals can do that. It’s not horror, is it?

  4. Dorraine Says:

    Paige,

Now that I look at the picture again, yes, it does have a hint of sadness to it, re: scattered petals. It’s strange and splendid how we all interpret things differently. And that’s why we love the written word.

  5. Deanna Schrayer Says:

I don’t think it’s horror, but who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see. :) By the way, Snow Quiet is now up on http://theothersideofdeanna.wordpress.com/2009/10/16/snow-quiet/ . Thank you so much for pushing me!

  6. Dorraine Says:

Yeah! Just left you a comment. You go, girl!

  7. Elizabeth Says:

    Dorraine,

I Know I left you a comment on this yesterday, but it’s not here. Hmm?

My comment was that I would love to roll in them and feel the
silky velvet next to my skin. Then grab an arm full, hold them up
to my nose and take a deep breath.

  8. dorraine Says:

Hi E! Yes, I did get your comment on eblogger and replied back to you. Hey, this sounds splendid to me. I think you should go for it!

  9. Deanna Schrayer Says:

Elizabeth, I like your thoughts the best. Rolling in that silky velvet and breathing in the scent of the roses sounds so relaxing.
Thanks for your comment on my story Dorraine, and especially for pushing me into it…I think. :)
